Degree Requirements

Candidates for the degree of Bachelor of Science must have completed the prescribed curriculum with an overall GPA on the UMC campus of 2.00 or better on a 4.00 scale. Degree requirements for the Master of Occupational Therapy and the Doctor of Physical Therapy program differ from those stated here. Please refer to the occupational therapy program and physical therapy program sections. Students are recommeded for graduation by the faculty, and the Dean approves the conferral of the degree. The School of Health Related Professions reserves the right to withhold a degree of any student deemed unsuitable for professional practice.

A degree cannot be granted unless the student has spent the equivalent of at least one full academic year in residency, has earned a minimum of 30 semester hours of residence credits and has completed the required course of study in the School of Health Related Professions. Transfer students who spend only one year in residency must attend the year in which the degree requirements are completed.
